Dorothy Day

Dorothy Day (1897–1980) was a journalist, activist, and co-founder of the Catholic Worker Movement. Through houses of hospitality, communal living, and acts of mutual aid, she helped build a network dedicated to serving the poor and resisting war and capitalism.

Her utopian vision was deeply rooted in everyday acts of care and solidarity. Rather than designing abstract systems, she focused on creating spaces where people could live out values of equality, dignity, and compassion in the present.
